Alan, a founding member of SKD, concentrates his efforts in the firm’s business practice and business litigation groups.  His broad experience on the business/commercial side of the law, negotiating, structuring and drafting business transactions and litigating commercial disputes, provides him with unique perspective and business acumen.  With Alan’s pragmatic approach to business issues, he often finds himself providing the firm’s clients with not only legal representation, but business advice as well.  

 

On the transactional side, Alan regularly handles acquisitions, business formation and structuring, joint ventures and strategic alliances, corporate governance, copyright and trademark licensing and all forms of contract drafting and negotiating.

 

In addition to his transactional work, Alan has significant experience in all phases of litigation in both the state and federal courts and regularly counsels the firm’s clients on litigation strategy.  He has litigated diverse and significant matters, including those involving: First Amendment, trademark and copyright issues; UCC secured transactions; breach of contract; debtor/creditor rights; insurance coverage; professional liability; and rights and obligations under New York’s Religious Corporation Law.
